Dear MLCers,

I would like to share with you a native phrase today, tighten your belt.

If you tighten your belt you try to spend less money because you haven’t got as much to spend as you did before.

Examples:

  1. Since I started working part-time I’ve had to tighten my belt.
  2. Celebrating Christmas is going to cost us a lot of money so we’re all going to have to tighten our belts.
  3. The government has cut the RC’s budget, we are all going to tighten our belts in the following years.

Practice this phrase with your language partners on the language table!

The first Roma Cup sports festival was successfully held yesterday! The speed friending organized by HA also achieved great success last night.
