MLC Activity Highlights: MLC successfully held its High Table Dinner in spring semester

Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) hosted the High Table Dinner at MLC dining hall on 16th March 2018. The dinner was an official event for MLC students to study social etiquette, college mission and vision. Over 200 participants attended the dinner, including invited keynote speaker Prof. Richard H. Almstedt, who is department chair, Kinesiology and Dance of the Lone Star College in Texas, USA and former NBA basketball player, Vice Rector Prof. Lionel, Ni Ming-Shuan, deans and professors from faculties, Non-Resident Fellows, affiliate professors, college academic staff, 12 local high school teacher and student representatives from Pui Ching Middle School, Instituto Salesiano and Saint Paul School, as well as MLC students.

Prof. Almstedt gave a keynote speech “Make good choice and never give up on your dreams”. He shared his rough roads to become a NBA player when he was young. He encouraged students to discover their talents and dreams at university. Once they are made, never give up the goals easily.

After the dinner, guests and students enjoyed a variety of performances. These included Guzheng performed by Miss Zhang Qimin, ballroom dance by master and guests and pop dance by the college dance team “Shuffle”. With smiles on the participants’ faces, the party ended on a high note where the student and guests were dancing together in the dining hall.
